Phase 1: Introduction to the Curriculum consists of two components:- Phase 1 PLCs - Teachers participate in a one-hour orientation followed by three two-hour sessions conducted by Mi-STAR staff. Virtual training is available in August, September, and January each year. Alternatively, a local PLF may provide six hours of face-to-face training. PLC topics include unit structure, lesson structure, and assessment opportunities and applications. Teachers will receive access to Unit 6.1 to accompany the Phase 1 training.
- Unit Prep Course - New Mi-STAR teachers request the first unit they will be implementing in their classroom and complete the unit prep course in Canvas that accompanies that unit. After completing the Unit Prep Course and the Phase 1 PLCs, teachers will be prepared to teach their first unit.
