Mi-STAR Teacher Featured in Science Scope

Thursday, August 15, 2019
Chris Geerer, a science teacher at Parcells Middle School in Grosse Pointe Woods, is profiled in the “Member Spotlight” feature of the July 2019 edition of Science Scope.

Geerer, a Mi-STAR professional learning facilitator, has piloted several units and has helped write the Mi-STAR curriculum. In the article, she describes her work with Mi-STAR and her favorite unit, 6.2, in which teachers suddenly undertake “random acts of dancing,” and students use epidemiological techniques to track the underlying cause of the RAD outbreak.

Members of the National Science Teachers Association can access the article via the online journal.
