Unit 7.2B: "Where Did Our Beach Go?": The Rock Cycle

In this unit, students learn about how the formation of beaches represent a combination of processes that are constantly acting to change Earth’s surface. Throughout the unit, students use hands-on activities to create physical and system models to understand complex processes such as rock weathering and erosion, deposition of sediments, and tectonic uplift. They complete the unit by developing a scientific explanation, with evidence and reasoning, to support a claim.

Unit Challenge Question: How does the cycling of rock matter affect Earth's surface features?
