Updated Mi-STAR Website to Give Teachers Access to New Curriculum
Thursday, July 20, 2017
Welcome to the new Mi-STAR website (https://mi-star.mtu.edu/)! Â We hope our visitors will find it more useful and easier to navigate than our old site. Â But, the big news is that we now have a custom curriculum portal that will provide teachers online access to the Mi-STAR curriculum!
In mid August, we will have six units posted in the Mi-STAR curriculum portal, two units each for grades 6–8.  Teachers who have completed Mi-STAR’s professional learning will receive login credentials, which will allow them to access the curriculum at their convenience.  As they become classroom-ready, all 22 middle-school units will be available via the portal.  The portal will provide all of the information teachers need to implement one or more of the Mi-STAR units.
Here’s a sneak peek into the Mi-STAR curriculum portal:
For those considering Mi-STAR’s curriculum, we have also made available on the public portion of the website three example lessons from our sixth grade unit “The Tangled Web We Weave: Interactions within Ecosystems.† These example lessons are accessible without login.
We value your opinions! Â Please contact us (msemones@mtu.edu) to let us know what you think about the new website. Â Please also contact us if you need help, notice any glitches, or have any suggestions for improvement.
