Michigan Tech Board of Control to Meet Next Thursday
Thursday, July 31, 2014
Michigan Tech’s Board of Control will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 in Ballroom B of the Memorial Union Building.
On the agenda is a report that the University has surpassed its fundraising goal for the year and ended the fiscal year with a positive balance. The Board will also hear that five Michigan Tech faculty members have received prestigious National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Awards–the most Tech has ever received in a year–and they’ll learn about a $5 million grant from the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation for a Michigan Tech-led project to develop a new way to teach middle-school science.
The Board will elect a new chair and vice chair for the coming year and make three appointments to the Michigan Tech Fund Board of Directors.
We hope you will join us for this meeting, which kicks off Michigan Tech’s annual Alumni Reunion.
