Mi-STAR’s own Doug Oppliger was featured on the Teach Wonder podcast, “These Moments Arise from Working With Teachers: A Conversation about Mi-STAR.” Oppliger sat down with Julie Cunningham and Ashley O’Neil at Central Michigan University’s Center for Excellence in STEM Education and shared his experience developing the Mi-STAR curriculum with university scientists, engineers, and middle school teachers from across the state of Michigan. Oppliger highlights the challenges of writing an NGSS-aligned curriculum, the joy of working with teachers, and the excitement of entering Mi-STAR’s new phase of curriculum updates and ongoing support.
